History Harvest

Help us preserve the legacy of the Gullah Geechee community—one story at a time.

The Campbell-Wright HBCU Gullah Geechee Internship Program invites elders, families, and community members to join us for a History Harvest, a day dedicated to gathering and safeguarding the stories, photographs, and documents that shape our collective memory.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Share oral histories in 1-on-1 conversations with trained student interns

  • Bring photographs, letters, or family records to be scanned and digitally preserved

  • Contribute to a growing community archive that honors the richness and resilience of Gullah Geechee life

All original materials will be returned, and participants will receive digital copies of anything scanned.

This is your chance to ensure that your family’s story becomes part of our larger historical record.
